I don't fly, but the FRT (facial recog tech) is also used for drivers licenses. Right now, I'm going on over four years of driving on an expired license, as I refuse to do the REAL ID nonsense. Your pic goes into a GLOBAL database. There is simply no privacy when your biometrics are in a govt's database, and without privacy, there is no liberty.
There were many state legislatures back in 2005 who saw this law as unconstitutional; what happened to them? They've been bought off, one by one.
I ran for mayor of this small Texas town back in 2010, and had to take an oath to uphold the US Constitution. That oath has never been rescinded, so I am legally and morally obligated to stand against all enemies, foreign and domestic. At nearly 70 years old, I can still fight for my country. If stopped by law enforcement, I do carry an authenticated birth certificate and a paper that explains why I cannot consent to FRT and the mandates of the REAL ID. (2 Tim. 4:2)
I’ve flown three times in the last three months. I read the one tiny sign posted at the beginning of the security line that said we could opt out of the facial scanning. I have not witnessed anyone else doing it. Sadly. But, I did have one tsa agent tell me to inform the agent first before inserting my ID into the scanner. He said it is difficult for them if we’ve already pushed it in. Knowing that one trick has made it super easy and friendly. I just walk up, stand to the side of the camera and say I want to decline the facial scan. Then I wait for them to come out of their stupor and give me instructions. I’ve had zero issues doing it like that. I’m on it, Peggy!
I opted out to get on a delta flight for Paris but on the way home we had to get a face photo at customs to get into the U.S. so I didn’t object for fear they would detain me. What do you advise?
It would take a miracle for things to change. Not sure I want to take the chance here in Boston. It would be a big ordeal to get to the airport, then not be able to take a flight and lose money on the ticket.
Hi Peggy, I just returned from two weeks in Puerto Vallarta flying with Alaska Airlines to LAX. Ive had TSA Precheck for years and it saves a lot of hassle. This time The Immigration Control Agent at LAX used a camera device and took my picture when I came thru Immigration. Im sure they have been developing facial recognition technology for years, especially on International travelers and though Ive refused to let them photograph me recently on domestic flights, but I didnt want to create a hassle at Border Control…. So he took my passport, aligned the camera up with my face, asked me to remove my chapeau, asked me where I was coming from and said “Have a good day…” and I was outta there in 3 minutes! Honestly! Noo hour long wait in a line with 500 people, then scanning passport in a machine, etc! So Im ABSOLUTELY opposed to misuse and abuse of “facial recognition” but Im afraid the BEST we can do at this point is keep an eye out at the local level to prevent the local yokels from implementing it on our streets! But you know they will claim theyre doing it to “Protect Us” from the gangs Biden and Mayorkas let overrun the country!
I have not flown since the un-patriot act was implemented. I refuse to as you said, “The short version is that I’ve sold my soul over to the TSA.” My soul belongs to Jesus.
If the majority of Americans would simply refuse to fly until the TSA is disbanded and all pilots are certified as unvaxxed, things would change really fast.
I’m not saying the people should stop flying permanently. I’m just saying that if enough people had refused to comply with TSA, the organization would have been disbanded within days. A simple, two-day boycott would have sent the message.
Same with vaxxed pilots - if enough people refused to fly with them, the airlines would have rescinded the mandates. Even now, if enough passengers requested unvaxxed pilots the airlines would at least offer informed consent so that passengers could decide whether to fly with vaxxed pilots or not.
Great insights, Peggy. Do NOT give the terrorists at TSA any more ammunition than they already have. I personally avoid airline travel as much as possible, but many folks do not have that luxury.
For those who have to book flights a couple times per year, the pre-check fee is incredibly inexpensive in retrospect.
I have traveled a lot in the past few months & though I have TSA Pre I have been asked to do the face scan every single time. Before I hand my non-REAL ID license to the agent, I say, “ I respectfully decline“ the photo and they have been fine with it. I’ve even had a couple of TSA agents tell me that was totally fine and they agree with me! The more people that decline and don’t comply, the better. It’s just like the mask mandates, etc.
I've declined airport facials many times! Sometimes they're perturbed, sometimes pretend like they can't hear me, and almost always act annoyed and say I should have said "decline" sooner. Also they tell me I'm already on camera from the person in front of me. At this point it's a matter of principle since they may be man(date)atory soon.
Had my first flight at Heathrow Airport (UK) and was asked to do the body scan and body pat down…..I absolutely hated it, it is hard to describe, but I felt so violated. I honestly didn’t feel like a human being through the whole airport process. What’s other’s thoughts on this: https://www.civilrightsmovement.co.uk/consequences-for-refusing-full-airport-body-scan.html
I think you are a little bit off on that one, Peggy. What “they” want is for everyone to submit to their rule. To be compliant little sheep. “Here take the jab it’s safe and effective.” “Here let us grope and scan you it’s for your own good.”
So following the link in my previous comment, “Alternatives to a Full Body Scan:
People who do refuse to allow a full body scan in the UK do not have an alternative. In the US, passengers can refuse a full body scan and have the right to request a full body pat down by security officials instead. This is not the case in the UK as the government decided that full body pat downs would not offer the same search efficiency. Not everyone will be chosen to undergo a full body scan at airports. The selection process is random but passengers who are chosen for a full body scan and refuse to comply will not be permitted to fly.”
I live in the UK…so I have no choice…no surprise there.
Peggy, is the TSA only good for travel in the US?

Yes, that is exactly that "they" want -- the people to stop flying.

Indeed. That was my hope when the unlawful gov’t implemented it. But…
Yes. Sadly, no one seemed to mind. People kept flying anyway and accepted the tyranny as easily as they accepted masks.
Spot on, sweetheart!!

Age 75 and up does not have to remove shoes or walk thru the body scanner.
(When I was 65, the TSA girl asked "Are you 75?" I could have killed her. But now I see it's a good thing.)
That is interesting!
LOL

That's good to hear Kathy!
Good to know. Thanks!

Oh yes, I know what you mean about pretending not to hear! I did that when people told me to cover my face!!

Dear Harriet, your feeling less than human is the point of these draconian measures. They want you to know they own you.
And they do starting from our birth certificates - meet your strawman
I forgot to mention, along with the body scanner and the pat down, a hand held scanner was also used. Ridiculous excessive and invasive!
I think you are a little bit off on that one, Peggy. What “they” want is for everyone to submit to their rule. To be compliant little sheep. “Here take the jab it’s safe and effective.” “Here let us grope and scan you it’s for your own good.”

One of the many reasons our USG/Israel/who knows who else(?) planned 9/11.
