Yes, they are nosy. On the opposite end of the spectrum. the 3-letter agency clowns who oversee Facebook recently censored my personal messages to a friend. Evidently, they didn't like my comments regarding their oversight and how all of social media is just a toy they use to spy on us. The backstory for me personally was that in very early 2021, I was suspended from Twitter - I had a following of nearly 100k. I didn't do anything wrong, nor did I post anything that could even possibly be viewed as disrespectful. I was literally suspended the day after Trump was in January, 2021.
My story regarding Facebook in 2024 is instructive because it's clear to me that the CIA, NSA, FBI, DOJ etc are spying on us. They literally removed all my PMs to my friend by deleting them. And then to cover their tracks, they came up with this hogwash: "Messenger upgraded the security of this chat. New messages and calls are secured with end-to-end encryption. Learn more." So, I took the bait and clicked the Learn More button. The next message reads: "More of your chats will be upgraded automatically in the coming months.."
And if that's not enough, they have an additional link telling me "How This Protects You."
They actually have the audacity to go on to say "that nobody else can see or listen to what's sent or said - not even Meta. We couldn't even if we wanted to."
Pure lies - otherwise, how did my PMs get deleted? I clearly touched a nerve in that PM and it got flagged because I called out specific three letter agencies.
Grateful for Peggy's platform - at least - so far - we can still speak freely here.
