Defense Secretary Goes AWOL
When everyday Americans are required to divulge sensitive health info... but the top military chief can keep secrets about his?
U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin quietly took a detour to the hospital for what they’re calling “complications related to a prior elective procedure.”
No other details were provided about the “elective procedure” undergone by Mr. Austin or the complications that followed, but I suspect it has something to do with the key word: elective 💉
Yes, he's been chilling there since the beginning of the new year, and the Pentagon just decided to spill the beans. In fact, the Wall Street Journal reported that the No. 2 official “didn’t learn that her boss was hospitalized Jan. 1 until four days after she had assumed some of his duties.”
The delayed disclosure has raised eyebrows and led to criticism from the Pentagon Press Association:
“the Pentagon Press Association (PPA) said the Pentagon’s failure to disclose Mr. Austin’s hospitalization “falls far below” the normal disclosure standards.” —EpochTimes
People are wondering what’s up with the secrecy surrounding the entire hospitalization ordeal and honestly, their concern is justified. I mean, this guy is pretty high up in the chain of command.
Just as the U.S. is ramping up its involvement in the Middle East, one would expect the feds to be a little more on the ball… It's not like there are any looming national security threats or anything. Nope, none at all.
