I love everything that you report and write, but I have to disagree with your support of this celebration because of the following reasons. 1. Jesus never said, "Do this in remembrance of me." 2. The apostles and early Church never celebrated it. 3. It's origin is from witchcraft and Catholicism. 4. It is a trick of Satan who has infiltrated the churches as it has always been his day of being worshipped as the sun god. Pagans believe the son god dies on the 21st, is in a grave for three days and nights from the 22nd to the 24th, and rises again on the 25th of December. How can this be 'Christianized'? 5. Jeremiah 10 absolutely forbids bringing a tree into one's house and decorating it with gold and silver. It is and has always been a symbol of the reproductive organ of Satan - a phallic symbol. I can only wonder how the LORD feels when congregations bring in a tree in what is supposed to be His sanctuary or house. Are not Christians supposed to obey the whole council of God? If it is forbidden, why are we doing it? 6. The name, Christmas, means death of Christ, not birth. The term came from Catholicism. A Mass is defined in the Catholic dictionary as a celebration of death. Every time someone wishes to others, "Merry Christmas", they are really saying "Merry death of Christ". Was His suffering and death something to be merry about? It this pleasing to the LORD? 7. Finally, Scripture proves that Jesus was born in September. By celebrating this time in December, Christians are practicing and promoting a lie. I have no problem remembering the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ in the month of September if it is done without all the trappings used today by the saved and the unsaved alike. But promoting a lie is sin and it is a terrible witness. I have tried to speak to witches (pagans as they like to be called today) about Jesus and they tell me that they hate Christians and especially Catholics because they stole all their holy days. Is having family time and warm, fuzzy memories at the end of December worth sacrificing truth and a witness for the Gospel of Jesus? "Wherefore, come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you." 2 Corinthians 6:17 Are Christians not called to be holy or separate? Are the traditions of men more important than pleasing the LORD Jesus Christ? I am not condemning or judging anyone who celebrates these days as I used to be part and parcel of it for many years. All I want is for people who call themselves Christian to think about what they are doing and examine the Scripture to see if they can find a precedence for participating in this ritual and not keep doing it because it has always been a part of their life and a part of society. It this celebration a witness and testimony to the unsaved who are also celebrating it in all its commercialism? Think about it.
I grew up with Christmas as the big yearly family holiday, but I can no longer stomach the forced and expected purchase of presents, cutting down of beautiful pine trees and seeing them in the trash the next week and the mindless commercialism that accompanies this Winter Solstice holiday.
Until we can step out of the system that was created for us by the parasites in power and who’ve rewritten our history for their benefit and create our own holidays with meaning behind them, Christmas will remain just a childhood memory.
